Dear Lancaster Families,

We have an exciting week ahead! Our annual Race Around the Park will take place Wednesday, October 8th after school.

Just a reminder that Picture Day is on Thursday, October 9th.

Our senior soccer teams wrapped up their season this week with their annual tournaments. A big thank-you to Mrs. Cancian, Madame Take, Mr. Dee and parent volunteers for their time and dedication in coaching.

A reminder that there will be no school on Friday, October 10th as it is a professional learning day.

Have an awesome week, Lions!

Upon completion of their race, athletes will be asked to check in with the coaches and will be free to be dismissed with their families.

The day could offer a wide range of weather possibilities so athletes are asked to bring a raincoat, warm clothes, a hat, sunscreen, and a large quantity of water to drink.

Atom Boys 4:15 PM

Bantam Girls 4:35 PM

Bantam Boys 4:55 PM

If you have any questions please contact us at the school. If you would like to volunteer with the organization and set-up of the race course beforehand, and/or supervising during the event, please email Lisa Walsh at hanleylc@limestone.on.ca Be sure to provide your name and the best phone number to reach you at. We appreciate your help!

Registration Cost: $2 per runner (to help cover costs of ribbons, racing bibs, and other event expenses). Please submit School-Day permission forms and payment by Monday September 29, 2025.

This year, there will be a canteen available selling drinks and snacks! Proceeds will help support Lancaster’s running team to help purchase equipment and singlets for our runners. Families are permitted to come and cheer on our athletes and our team. We are looking forward to a great event. Thank you in advance for your support! Please note that parking at the school is limited. We encourage parents to utilize side streets and enter the park through “catwalks” for convenience.

School Accident Insurance

School Board Policy states that participation on school sports teams (both elementary and secondary) is conditional on obtaining at least the basic student accident insurance coverage for the student or proof of external private coverage through your family plan. The cost of basic coverage is approximately $17.00 per year. This covers the student while attending school during the school day. The time spent by students participating on school-sponsored teams is considered part of the school day, even if the games and/or practices are held outside of the regular school hours. It is recommended that all parents consider this program. Visit www.insuremykids.com to get this inexpensive and highly recommended insurance.

Pick Up and Drop off Routines

To help keep our students and staff safe, we kindly ask all families to follow our pick-up and drop-off procedures:

  • Please do not pull up and stop at the front main doors for pick-up or drop-off. This creates congestion and safety concerns.
  • A new sign has been installed in the parking lot to help guide safe parking and traffic flow. Please take note of the marked spaces and signage.
  • At the end of the day, we ask that parents of children in Grade 1 and up meet their child on the back turf area of the school.

Thank you for your continued support in keeping Lancaster a safe and welcoming place for all!
