School Councils are important partners in education. School Councils provide a forum through which parents and other members of school communities can contribute to improving student achievement and well-being and enhance the accountability of the education system.
Our School Council focuses on information sharing and discussion, and sometimes, how to improve student opportunities through fundraising. At each meeting, school administration provides an update on school- related activities and council members may identify topics of interest for presentation/discussion at future meetings or extra special interest sessions.

IV. Principal’s and VP Report
● Facilities
o Concerns were raised about kids on the E-scooters and E-bikes on the turf and in the neighborhood. Signs were put up on the turf to indicate that no bikes, e-bikes, scooters allowed.
o Liaising with police/bylaw around parking and use of scooters and e-bikes

- Review of registrations resulted in school petitioning for an additional teacher, there will be an additional teacher and reorganization for grade 4/5
- Shane Hardy will be joining the school as a grade 4 teacher from Rideau Heights Public School/JG Simcoe Public School
- Brendhon McCrea will be joining for Planning time
- Each division in the school will have a divisional leader that will advocate on behalf of the group. Kinder (Greenlees), Primary (Dowker), Junior (Hamilton), Senior (Dee)
● Student Life
- Terry Fox Race – schools goal is to raise $3000, shirts are available for purchase
V. Officer’s Report
● Hot Lunch
- Moving forward with Lunbox and Greektown as the option for Thursdays
- Lillian working with Riverhead to provide pizza option on Tuesdays, will start up soon after re-org
● Teacher Appreciation
- Coffee and Muffins provided to the teachers for first week of school, thank you to Alana for organizing.
- Wanting to do end of year pot luck again as it was a success
● Readathon
- April 5-19th
- Need to update last years file with new dates etc.
● Book Fair
- Fall Book Fair September 23-25 to align with Open House

- Many vendors already booked from last year including:
