Dear Lancaster Families,

It has been wonderful to see students engaged in learning, activities, and school spirit as we settle into the late fall season.

We are excited to have both our Junior and Senior Volleyball seasons underway! A big thank you to Madame Walsh, along with all the staff and parent volunteers who supported the Running Club this fall. We look forward to seeing this club return in the spring.

Lancaster Staff and Students will be gathering for our Remembrance Day Assembly on Tuesday, November 11th. We invite families to join us in this important time of reflection and remembrance. The assembly will begin promptly at 10:45 am. We will begin welcoming families at 10:20 am to Lancaster's gymnasium.

Progress Reports will be sent home on November 13th, and please note there will be a PA Day on November 14th.

As the weather begins to cool, we remind families to help students prepare for outdoor recesses by ensuring they have warm clothing, including an extra set of mittens, socks, and a hat in their backpack—just in case!

We would also like to remind families about head lice. Staying vigilant and checking regularly at home is the best way to help prevent-especially during these colder months.

Have a wonderful week ahead Lions!

Ms. Knowles & Ms. O'Hearn

See Yourself in Limestone – Student Census Survey

Limestone is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students. To help us better understand how students’ identities and experiences relate to their achievement and well-being, we are launching our second See Yourself in Limestone Student Census Survey this fall.

The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12, running from November 24 to 28, 2025. It gathers information about students’ identities and their experiences at school. This data is then paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.

Important information for families:

  • The survey is optional.
  • Responses are confidential and students can skip any questions they do not wish to answer.
  • Students will complete the survey during class time.
  • Students who do not participate will be provided with an alternative activity.

Families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact their school principal by Friday, November 14, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their e-mail inbox.

By better understanding students’ identities and experiences, we can remove barriers and better support students in accessing what they need to succeed.

Socktober & Fall Food Drive

What?  The members of the Senior Ministry of Caring are organizing a sock and food drive this month

Why?  To help Kingston residents who may be struggling with food or housing insecurity.  Students want to help make a difference as the weather turns colder.

When:  October 14th-November 7th

Where:  Families who would like to participate in the sock and food drive can send items with their child.  Non perishable food items will be kept in classrooms.  Students can bring their sock donations to the front foyer and put it in their colour house bin.  Let’s see which colour house can collect the most socks!

Socks:  The biggest need is for adult socks, in warm materials such as wool, fleece and polyester blends.  We will donate them to Socks Kingston, who distribute them to agencies across Kingston.

Food:  We got in touch with the Partners in
Mission food bank.  Here are the items that they are most in need of at the moment:

  • Canned meats & fish
  • Peanut butter, jam
  • Stews, chunky soups, and canned tomatoes
  • Pasta & pasta sauce
  • Cereal
  • Baby food and formula
