Dear Lancaster Families,
As the school year comes to a close, we would like to share a number of staffing changes at Lancaster for the upcoming school year.
First, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. Boriotis and Ms. Smith as they begin their well-deserved retirements. Both have been integral members of the Lancaster community, and their kindness, dedication to teaching and learning, and commitment to making Lancaster such a wonderful place will be deeply missed.
Ms. Boriotis, we will miss your authentic and compassionate approach with children. You have always been a champion for the underdog, consistently finding the silver lining and advocating strongly for your students and their families. Your care, positivity, and unwavering support have made a lasting impact on the Lancaster community.
Ms. Smith has been a valued member of the Lancaster community for many years and a strong leader within our intermediate division. She has a remarkable ability to build meaningful connections with her students and brings an incredibly positive outlook to all that she does. Her passion for the arts has enriched our school in countless ways, and her kindness, steady presence, and strong advocacy for students will truly be missed.
We would also like to wish Ms. Dudley all the very best as she embarks on an exciting secondment as a educator in the Netherlands. While we will miss her greatly, we know she will bring the same dedication, enthusiasm, and care to her new role abroad. Whether supporting students in the classroom, on the playing field, or through Sr. Ministry of Caring initiatives, she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to helping every child grow and succeed.
A special thank you is also extended to Ms. Scovill and Ms. Billen, who joined our junior division mid-year. Their contributions in both the classroom and through coaching have been a welcome addition to the Lancaster community. We wish them all the best wherever they may land.
We will also be saying farewell to: Ms. Meghan, Ms. Emma, and Mrs. Nicholas. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to the students you support each and every day. Your compassion, flexibility, and commitment make an incredible difference in the lives of our students and staff. Quite simply, we could not do what we do without you. Wherever your journey takes you next year, any school community will be fortunate to have you.
We would also like to warmly welcome a number of new staff members to the Lancaster community (Ms. Bateman, Mr. Keeler, Ms. Lees, Mrs. Olive, Ms. Matthews, Mrs. Leggett & Madame Lacey). Each educator brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and passion for student success, and we are excited to have them join the Lancaster team. Formal introductions will be shared closer to the beginning of the school year.
We are delighted to share that Ms. Forbes will be continuing at Lancaster in September, continuing in a planning time and FSL role.
We are also excited to have Mrs. Bates joining Lancaster as our Vice Principal and SST. Mrs. Bates is joining us from Maple Elementary. Mrs. Bates brings her experience as an SST for many years and a strong passion for literacy.
Our sincere gratitude to our amazing Parent Council Co-Chair, Kory Slovitt, for her tireless work, dedication, and unwavering support of our school community over the years. Your countless hours of volunteering, leadership, and commitment have had a tremendous impact on the students, staff, and families of Lancaster.
We are truly grateful for the support of our Lancaster families throughout this school year. On behalf of the entire Lancaster staff, it has been an absolute joy and privilege to watch your children learn, grow, and flourish over the course of the year. We are proud of all that they have accomplished and thankful for the strong partnership we share with our families.
We wish all of our Lancaster families a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer vacation filled with many happy memories. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on September 2nd for another wonderful year of learning and growth together. Kindergarten Registration and Out of Boundary Registration
Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten this September? If your child is four- or five-years-old by the end of December (2026), now is the time to register. Limestone offers Kindergarten in both English and French Immersion—where 85% of instruction is in French—plus a strong focus on the core skills of reading, writing, and math. With greater choice in schools and future programming, your child can discover a sense of belonging, while learning the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. For more information, please visit limestone.on.ca/kindergarten.
In Limestone, students may be permitted to attend any school within the board when there is available student space, upon submission and approval of the proper application. Please note only one application per student can be processed; please do not submit more than one application for multiple school locations. If multiple applications are submitted, families will be contacted to select which school application they would like processed, and all other applications will be removed from the system.
The board is not responsible for the provision of any transportation for students outside of their regular school boundary area. This applies to both students within Limestone’s geographic boundaries (out of boundary), and students who live outside of those boundaries (out of district).
To find the name and location of your in-boundary or home school(s), enter the student’s home address into Tri-Board's Locate A School tool.
