Happy Retirement Mrs. Dowdell
It is with truly bittersweet feelings that we share some important news with our school community.
At the end of January, Ms. Dowdell will be retiring from Lancaster Drive Public School, with her final day being January 31. While we are so happy for her as she moves on to embrace new chapters and spend time doing the many wonderful things she loves, we know this news may feel a little sad for our students and families who have been so lucky to learn from her.
Ms. Dowdell is an extraordinary educator, but even more than that, she is an incredible human being. Throughout her time at Lancaster Drive, she has poured her heart into her classroom, building meaningful relationships with students, nurturing their confidence, and helping them see their own potential. Her warmth, kindness, patience, and unwavering care have left a lasting impact on countless children and families.
She is the kind of teacher who makes students feel safe, seen, and valued, as well, the kind of colleague who makes a school feel like a true community. Her compassion, professionalism, and dedication have helped shape Lancaster Drive into the special place it is today.
While it will be hard to imagine our school without her, we are deeply grateful for all she has given and excited for her as she steps into this next season of her life. We know that wherever she goes and whatever she does, she will continue to spread the same joy, care, and goodness that she has shared so freely here.
We will be celebrating Ms. Dowdell and her many contributions in the coming weeks, and we invite you to join us in wishing her the very best as she begins this new adventure.
