A huge congratulations to all running club members who competed Wednesday at the Regional Cross Country Meet! All runners put in an incredible effort and represented Lancaster proudly. We had an astounding 36 runners place in the top 30 and qualify for next week’s District Cross Country Championship. Special congratulations to Michael I. and Atticus who earned Silver medals, and Ollie G. who earned a bronze medal.

Congrats these other top 10 finishers: Grayson C., Jordyn, Maggie, Penelope, Ember, William R., James M., Ryder, Trent, and Mia. Congratulations to the Atom Girls and Bantam Boys teams who earned overall Gold Team medals, and the Bantam Girls and the Senior Boys teams who earned overall Silver team medals. We wish all who qualified the best of luck in the District Cross Country Championships on Wednesday October 22nd!

Socktober & Fall Food Drive

What?  The members of the Senior Ministry of Caring are organizing a sock and food drive this month

Why?  To help Kingston residents who may be struggling with food or housing insecurity.  Students want to help make a difference as the weather turns colder.

When:  October 14th-November 7th

Where:  Families who would like to participate in the sock and food drive can send items with their child.  Non perishable food items will be kept in classrooms.  Students can bring their sock donations to the front foyer and put it in their colour house bin.  Let’s see which colour house can collect the most socks!

Socks:  The biggest need is for adult socks, in warm materials such as wool, fleece and polyester blends.  We will donate them to Socks Kingston, who distribute them to agencies across Kingston.

Food:  We got in touch with the Partners in
Mission food bank.  Here are the items that they are most in need of at the moment:

  • Canned meats & fish
  • Peanut butter, jam
  • Stews, chunky soups, and canned tomatoes
  • Pasta & pasta sauce
  • Cereal
  • Baby food and formula
