Dear Lancaster Families,
It was a pleasure to welcome everyone to our school during last week’s Open House. Thank you to Mrs. McDougall, Mrs. Tidman, Mrs. Dowdell, and Ms. Jarbeau for organizing the Terry Fox Walk, Run, and Roll on Friday — it was a wonderful event! We are also grateful to all families for your generosity and continued support.
A big thank you as well to Mrs. Slovitt and all the parent and grandparent volunteers who helped make our Scholastic Book Fair a success. All proceeds will go directly back to the school to support literacy initiatives!
This week, we kick off with the Senior Soccer tournaments and will observe Orange Shirt Day & the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Tuesday, September 30th.
Lastly, we are excited to welcome Mrs. Saha to our Kindergarten team — she will be starting with us on Monday!
Have an awesome week, Lions!

A big thank you for everyone who supported our fall 2025 Scholastic book fair. Because of your support we had over $6,800 in sales this fall.
A special THANK YOU to all the parent/grandparent volunteers who helped run the fair. Without you, this would not have been possible.
We will see you in the spring for the next Book Fair!
Terry Fox, Walk, Run & Roll
Thank you for making Lancaster's Terry Fox Walk, Run, and Roll such a meaningful success! Thank you to Ms. Jarbeau, Mrs. McDougall, Mrs. Tidman and Mrs. Dowdell for your leadership in organizing this school wide event. Thanks to all families that cheered on students and staff on Friday!
We will share the grand total raised on the announcements this week!
School Accident Insurance
School Board Policy states that participation on school sports teams (both elementary and secondary) is conditional on obtaining at least the basic student accident insurance coverage for the student or proof of external private coverage through your family plan. The cost of basic coverage is approximately $17.00 per year. This covers the student while attending school during the school day. The time spent by students participating on school-sponsored teams is considered part of the school day, even if the games and/or practices are held outside of the regular school hours. It is recommended that all parents consider this program. Visit www.insuremykids.com to get this inexpensive and highly recommended insurance.
Pick Up and Drop off Routines
To help keep our students and staff safe, we kindly ask all families to follow our pick-up and drop-off procedures:
- Please do not pull up and stop at the front main doors for pick-up or drop-off. This creates congestion and safety concerns.
- A new sign has been installed in the parking lot to help guide safe parking and traffic flow. Please take note of the marked spaces and signage.
- At the end of the day, we ask that parents of children in Grade 1 and up meet their child on the back turf area of the school.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping Lancaster a safe and welcoming place for all!
